Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site the data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.
Contact forms
When you use the contact form on my site the information you provide (Name, email, website, and comments, for example) and your IP address are stored on my site. This data storage is for customer service purposes, and for spam detection. The information you submit in a contact form on this site is never used for marketing purpose later and you will only be contacted as a reply to your original email.
Cookies
If you leave a comment on my site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year unless your browser settings may call for their deletion earlier.
Who we share your data with
This site uses cookies from the following 3rd party services: Google Analytics, Jetpack, Dreamhost, and Photoshelter. Google Analytics generates statistics and other information about site visitors allowing me to see what pages are the most popular, where visitors are coming from, what browser they’ve used, etc. Jetpack is a wordpress plugin that also allows me to see some statistical data on usage of my blog in addition to allowing users to subscribe to my blog posts, comments, and receive notifications via email.. Dreamhost is my web hosting company – the files for my website sit on their servers. Photoshelter is the company that hosts my Image Library and Galleries.

How long we retain your data
If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data
My website is encrypted with Secure Socket Layers (SSL). All data you provide is encrypted when being sent to this website. Access to my administrator account on this site and to my account with the web hosting is protected with two-factor authentication.
